Our full day fly fishing guide trips are designed to give anglers plenty of time to explore the river, dial in techniques, and enjoy a true Montana fly fishing experience. Fishing with one of our experienced local guides allows you to cover more water, adapt to changing conditions, and make the most of your day on the river.

All Full Day fly fishing guide trips include rods, reels, tackle, and flies if needed, along with a hearty riverside lunch and non-alcoholic beverages.

Missouri River full day guide trips are $750 and require a 2-day minimum booking.

A more in depth educational option. We offer private on water fly fishing classes tailored to all levels of anglers. This is a great way to get started in fly fishing, learn a new technique or sharpen your skills. These classes are walk wade only and limited to 2 anglers

We’re a locally owned and operated outfitter based in Bozeman, Montana, and we spend our season on the Madison, Gallatin, and Yellowstone Rivers. That local knowledge matters. River conditions, flows, hatches, and weather can change quickly in Southwest Montana, and knowing where to be — and how to fish it — is key to a successful day.

Each trip we run is built around you and what you want out of the day. If you’re new to fly fishing, we’ll slow things down, keep it simple, and walk you through everything step by step. If you’ve spent time on the water, we’ll cover ground, dial in the right approach, and focus on putting you on quality fish. Either way, we adjust the game plan as conditions change so you get the most out of your day.

Deposits, Payments & Cancelation Policy

Deposits & Payments

• A 50% deposit is required for all trips booked more than 30 days in advance.
• The remaining balance must be paid in full no later than 14 days prior to your trip.
• Trips booked within 30 days of the trip date require full payment at the time of booking.

Cancellations & Refunds

• Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to the trip will receive a full refund.
• Cancellations within 30 days of the trip date will forfeit the 50% deposit.
• Cancellations within 14 days of the trip date are non-refundable and will be charged the full price of the guide trip.

***All refunds to credit cards are subject to a 5% processing/service fee.

Large Group Bookings (8+ Anglers)
Large group reservations (8 or more anglers) require full payment of the total trip cost at the time of booking when secured more than 60 days in advance. All large group bookings are non-refundable within 60 days of the first day of the scheduled trip.

Our cancellation policy is firm and applies to all cancellation reasons, including unforeseen circumstances and last-minute travel delays. This includes cancellations due to travel changes, personal emergencies, illness, or other life events. Changes in travel plans, weather variations, or itinerary adjustments do not automatically qualify for a refund outside of our standard cancellation terms.

We reserve the right to issue refunds on a case-by-case basis at our sole discretion.

Montana weather and water conditions can vary widely. We do not cancel or refund trips due to inclement weather such as rain, wind, snow, smoky air, or normal river fluctuations. Trips operate in safe and fishable conditions whenever possible.

Full refunds will be issued if Rising Trout Fly Fishing Outfitters must cancel a trip due to unsafe weather, hazardous river conditions, guide illness, or other circumstances that make it unsafe or impossible to operate. If rescheduling is not feasible, a full refund will be provided.

Travel Insurance

We recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your trip investment. Unexpected events—like flight cancellations, illness, or weather delays—can happen, and travel insurance offers peace of mind if plans change. Rising Trout Fly Fishing Outfitters is not responsible for losses or expenses due to trip interruptions, cancellations, or delays.
